Drivers seat belt tensioner

Hi

I have a warning light that's come up.
My mechanic used hs OBD reader which says

"010D Driver's Side seat belt tensioner, Faulty signal"

what is a likely cause?

I assume that I disconnect the battery and wait 20 mins? ( do I need to wait?)
then unplug and replug any wires.
would the car reset the fault?
Or do I need the OBD reader again?

any help useful

cheers

It won't reset on its own. You need the proper diagnostic equipment to reset the SRS light. If you try to reset it and it doesn't go away, then that means that the tensioner is faulty. Or to be more exact, the small part where the connector plugs in, is faulty. There is also a veruy small chance that the SRS module might be faulty, in which case none of the SRS codes will be able to be reset. Only way to tell for sure, is by using the Volvo DiCE diagnostic tool, where it will give you a definite answer.

If you can't find anyone local to you with a DiCE, you are more than welcome to drop by and I can read/erase your codes with my DiCE
