S80 Bi-fuel cuts out.

Hi,

I have bought a 03 plate s80 bi-fuel 180000 on the clock with a full volvo history, the problem is that when I start the car from cold and give it a couple of mins the car flips over to lpg and runs very very we'll for about 20 mins and then the car flips back to petrol and will not go back onto lpg.

If the car site for an hour or two the it will again run on lpg for 20 mins.

Thanks for reading and your help..

Could be a solenoid coil (tank or reducer) over heating and tripping out.

Hi thanks for your reply, do you know if I can get some pics or a diagram of the lpg system/parts? And if it was the solenoids where I could purchase new ones.

Thanks again

I asked the same question back in January. I have a Volvo V70 2006 CNG.
The LPG and CNG gas systems are almost identical except the LPG system has a condenser to turn the liquified gas into a gas where as the CNG system has a regulator. The LPG is not as clean as CNG and can clog up the condenser and distributor particularly if no inline filter is installed.

To cut a long story short I bought a new distributor and stepper motor. The car now doesn't work at all on gas......

Jeez a new stepper and distributor. Dear me, perrriiicey and still it fails to go. Usually I'd plump for the stepper. PM me.
