B20B engine rebuild - Fast road/track use
 

Just picked a B20B engine up from Andy near Droitwich and am in the process of degreasing the block and dis-assembling. Looking to have the engine rebuilt for fast road/occasional track use in my Amazon so would appreciate some advice as to specification. The engine turns and the bores look fine. I plan on leaving the crank as is but with new pistons/rings. Thinking of running a C or D cam with polished and ported head. Would a lightened flywheel be advisable? I'll be fitting new ancillaries such as a new water pump, oil pump and 123 distributor. And all gaskets of course. I also need to mount the engine on an engine stand so what thread and length of bolts would I need to attach the stand to the engine housing. Many thanks for any advice.

The bolts which attach the starter to the bellhousing are ideal. Exact length and thread. That's what I used.

You already have two holding your starter. I bought mine from VP Autoparts. Don't know if Brookhouse sells them. Give them a bell and ask. If you are really stuck I will send you mine as long as you return them.
