v70 (2010) R-design Satnav / bluetooth retrofit
Hello... I've just bought a v70 2010 R-design. Sadly it didn't come with Sat nav and the Bluetooth phone kit. Can anyone point help me with how easy this is to retrofit and what parts I need? I plan on buying 2nd hand off ebay or salvage, as I got a quote of £2500 for new parts+labour which is about 1/3 of what i paid for the car!!! If it's easy-ish I will do it myself if not I'll get my mechanic to look at it.

I will be watching this to see if any helpful info is posted or shopping list required as I have just got a 2009 r design v70 which could do with the Bluetooth feature etc and always handy to have sat nag with updated maps ....
Kind regards Robert.w |
I wouldn't bank on updated maps unless you can retrofit the very latest type of Sat Nav unit. The Sensus unit in my 2012 XC70 will only be receiving one more map update in 2020 and then Volvo will no longer support it, which is shameful!

The installation instructions are around as PDFs, google for them Note that many control units are coded to the car and cannot work in other cars. I'm not so sure about the V70 as it is a different generation to what I have. Given what you paid it may be much easier and cheaper to sell what you have an buy a V70 that has everything fitted that you want. |
Alternatively do as I did and spend £140 on a garman. Phone calls I let ring out when driving and return once parked if I want too.
The volvo nav system is not as reliable as it could be and very expencive to repair when it fails. A conversation I overheard in my dealers, Well sir do you want to spend £300 trying to fix it or will you go to halfords and buy a Tom Tom. For half that. Paul |
For pre-2012 cars there is an aftermarket option:
