1996 Volvo 855 T5 for sale
 

So, now I've foolishly bought a Gul T-5R, I have to rather reluctantly sell my 1996 metallic Olive Green Volvo 850 T5 auto Estate. £1,950 ono

It's one of the very last 850s — hence on an R plate. Odometer shows 102,000, but as usual, it had failed for a few years (as per the MOT history) so mileage is now circa 125,000; which is still low. Everything works on it, including stuff that often doesn't on these — tailgate, odometer (now fixed), air conditioning, glove box, heated seats, sunroof. The engine is strong, PCV works fine and cam belt was changed in 2014 at 90,433 miles (so approx 35,000 miles ago). Comes with two keys, and a fob that doesn't work

Interior is beige part leather / cloth without wooden dash inserts. Electric windows on the front, hand-cranked in the back. Has the trip computer

Not so good — paint is original with no rust anywhere (inc front wings and tailgate), but there are numerous scratches in the lacquer. There are a few dings, worst of which is in the top edge of the N/S front wing, which also has a repair that was never painted. Wheels have a decent amount of kerb-rash and a bit of corrosion. Central locking can be hit and miss on the tailgate. The dash cover above the glove box is distorted and starting to peel away. The power steering whines a bit, as does the auto transmission at slow speeds, but always has done in the 15,000-odd miles I've done in it, without worsening. There's absolutely no history (apart from the cam-belt sticker)

It's on lowered springs and uprated shocks, but the springs creak a bit when it first moves off (or I just don't notice them after that).

MOT is due in October.

Wheels are 16" Columbas on 205/50 x16 tyres of mixed parentage.

It's ran faultlessly in the year / 15,000 miles I've owned it. I bought the yellow T-5R in a mad rush of blood to the head and though it's not as good as this car, I feel obliged to sort it out.
