XC 70 loss of power

Hi, I've just got an xc70 and initially the soot filter full message came up and the car lost power. Switching it off and back on got it running properly and i was able to do the dpf regeneration and the message was deleted. Today the poor running returned and a message saying Engine System Service appeared. The symptoms are the same as the soot filter full problem and it returned to normal running with a switch off and turn back on though the engine system service message is still there.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Year?
Fuel type?
Miles?
Did the car had any maintenance done?
History?

A "soot filter full" issue is a symptom, not the cause, of the problem.

You need to find out why the engine is generating so much soot that the filter became full

Normal driving on a normal engine will never cause the soot filter to reach a full state.

How’s your intercooler for leaks? If you have any it will over fuel.

Sorry, hit submit button in error!
2006 d5 auto with 137k on clock. I managed to clear the soot filter full issue with a regen run. Car then suffered a loss in power and an engine system service required message.
Switched car off then re started it and it ran ok but still showed the message about engine system.

Have similar problem Endoman so watching this thread carefully. I initially had a "soot filter full" message turned out to be faulty DPF sensor, however now car looses power when it gets hot.....suspect as could be for you is a leak in the turbo pipes or poss intercooler leak. Performing a smoke test tonight, will keep u posted.

The garage i got mine from is taking it in to fix it, he reckons it all goes back to a lambda sensor but I'm not so sure.
Have found myself that the swirl flap mechanism link bar also needs replaced so we'll see what happens.
Is very frustrating as when it goes right it's a really good car.
