£200 for a quick sale to a fellow Volvo Forumite.

MOT expires on 2 September 2018 and in the last two weeks she has developed two issues (knocking noise, possibly a drop link, and reversing lights issue) which require fixing to pass the test hence my decision to part our ways. She still drives well but would also be useful for spares source!

2003 V40 petrol 1.8i SportsLux with Winter Drivers pack options (heated seats etc). Done just under 193 K but comes with a full service history with stamps and only two owners (me being one).

Metallic black with beige leather interior. In good nick in my opinion for her age and mileage. Bodywork good other than for a few minor scuffs, bonnet has lost its shine, minor bubbling above windscreen and drivers door handle which broke a few weeks ago and has been repaired (but I do have a spare chrome handle). No egg crate grille (replaced a couple of years ago) but still has a front splitter bar.

Drives well, no engine issues I am aware of other than for the following:

Suspension - car developed a noticeable underbody 'knocking noise' when driving over bumps and pot holes two weeks ago. I think this may well be a drop link problem but I do not have the expertise / knowledge to repair. However no noise when I drive at 50 mph or above hence my thought it is a drop link which is the issue.


Reversing lights - I noticed 6 weeks ago the reversing lights sometimes stayed on. I have bought a genuine Volvo reversing lights sensor which should sort the problem.


The MOT and tax expire on 2 September so I would like to have her driven away before then as I will have sent in a SORN declaration.

I live very close (under a mile) from J9 of the M25

99% I will take it. Will have a quick chat with my friend (ex volvo driver) and confirm for sure tomorrow. Would Saturday evening be ok to come and collect?
