Last years renewal was £150 above other company's prices, but after phoning yourselves it was beaten (£5).
This year it's about £125 dearer than other company's.

Is there such thing as customer loyalty ?

I will not be renewing with yourselves

Hi Jodiexii,

Renewals are calculated each year based on the previous years premium however as we have access to over 40 underwriters we are able to offer the opportunity to try and compete with any alternative like for like quotations, where possible.

Kind regards,
Dan.

I was previously insured with Adrian Flux/Flux Direct on my first classic Land Rover. Things didn't work out with that and I replaced it with my C70 T5, which Flux wouldn't quote me on. Because the policy they had given me was a classic (but at 'modern' prices) my £550 or so premium, after 6 weeks, got me less than £200 back upon cancellation, and I was told I was only getting anything because they couldn't quote me for its replacement.

Nevertheless I decided to give them a chance to quote for the V70R this time around. I'm now older (25) and wiser than I was at 21, and was quickly reminded of pushy sales tactics which I don't like at all. They badger you for your best quote so far, and then beat it by a few quid, before pushing you into taking out the insurance there and then. I felt the call handler I had was downright rude when I asked for a quote reference (they won't honour quotes for any length of time, unlike other insurers) and was told no.

Whether their staff are paid large commissions, or that's just the culture of the company, I don't know. But it has reminded me why I won't be even trying them for a quote again, on my Land Rover, my other Land Rover, my Volvo or my Austin...

Does Adrian Flux insure young drivers / students?

warninglight Dec 16th, 2015 14:10

I was 21 and a student when I had my first policy with them. That was a 1978 Land Rover Series 3 insured as my every day vehicle.

In my experience they'll insure anyone and beat your best quote to boot. But be ready for pressure selling, and read up on reviews from people who have had to make claims through them in the past.

Hi,

Do you insure younger drivers? AF haven't been so kind in the past regarding my 240 (and their classic policies). I was refused cover last year as I wasn't old enough to qualify for their '21 or over' clause. Would you be able to help, or is it not worth it?

Tim
