2011 Model V70 AWD D5 SE Lux Geartronic, 104k miles

21 Attachment(s)
The SUV antidote - a great handling Volvo D5 AWD CAR.
Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria/N Yorkshire border.
The basics:
Registration LD60 CVS.
VIN YV1BW7056B1179583.
First registered 28 Sept 2010, 2011 model.
MOT until Nov 11 2022.
Fern Green/Beige leather.
Extremely good condition. Heated seats, rear park assist, remote tailgate, direction-following HID headlamps, remote fold rear head restraints, Bluetooth for phone calls, USB for music on your thumb drive, navigation includes the remote. Supple leather, smells beautiful, regularly conditioned in my ownership. Only very slight wear to the leather colour on the driver seat. No trace of rust due to being a south of England car until at least Sept 2017, confirmed by MOTs. After the timing belt failed, the tow truck guy got a good look underneath and could barely believe how clean it is. I drove it from Sept 2020-Jan 2021. Thoroughly washed including underneath, then stored in secure garage until Nov 2021. Then drove again Nov-Dec 2021.
Very reluctant sale. Have nevertheless priced to sell at £7,000, which is less than similar age/miles FWD cars out there. I checked autotrader.co.uk and can find no other D5 AWD V70s available.
The bad: On December 7th 2021, while I had the engine idling, apparently, the 2018 timing belt tensioner bearing failed. This caused the timing belt to slip, destroying the cylinder head.
The good:
January 2022 at 103,754 miles - newly installed and tested good used cylinder head. Car now runs exactly as it should - perfectly, bags of torque. New timing belt, tensioner, water pump, aux belt & tensioner, head set, head bolt set, head gasket etc... for £2,300.77. Car has been used by the garage owner who assesses that all is now good.
December 2021 - replaced the under-floor cargo area hydraulic strut.
Nov 12 2021 at 102,679 miles. Full service including transmission drain and fill (not the dangerous flushing), new rear brake discs and pads, new oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, one ABS sensor, one keyfob battery, new MoT for £707.
Oct 7 2020 at 98,726 miles. Four new 225/50 17 Pirelli Sottozero tyres, new front brake discs and pads, oil and filter changed for £768.94.

Car drove and shifted very smoothly last time I drove it, which was December 7th 2021. I am now living in the US. The car is with the garage that has looked after it since my purchase in September 2020. This is a private sale. Buyer beware and all that good stuff but probably the best condition V70 D5 available at any money. Most if not all the major items (almost new Pirelli tyres & all brake discs and pads, transmission service, timing belt, aux belt) are taken care of for years into the future.
PM me for more. If you tell me your phone number, I'll call you if you want to talk. Calls from US to UK are included in my call plan.

Apologies for the pics. The dealer ones are from late 2020 but there's no change to the car's appearance.
Mark

It's right in the middle of the text, just before "the bad"

Thanks Rocinante. Yes, asking £7,000. One of only 34 in the UK? Can never be sure with howmanyleft but it's the best data I could find:

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicl...auto#!firstreg

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicl...d_d5_auto#!tax

Also has full service history. I'm only the third owner.

Yes, I should have put the £7,000 in bold... Thanks for drawing attention to that... Mark

Will soon be putting this on Autotrader at a more market-realistic, higher price. Looking for a quick sale to a fellow enthusiast (I also have a 52,000 mile V70R), which is why I offered it here at £7,000.

Are you looking to sell the R too?

Greetings from rainy England

I wondered if the XC70 was still available? Could you send me a PM if so? The system here won't let me message you direct

Many thanks

James

Hi James,

Thanks for getting in touch. Can't PM either.

It really is a V70 AWD. All the benefits of a regular car (great on road handling, better active safety, etc...) with all the space you get in an XC70.

Yes, still available.

If you want to whats app me, it still works if you add 07539 034147, even though the actual cell service is discontinued.

Best,
Mark
