Standard AC to climate control upgrade
 

Is it possible to upgrade from standard air con to climate control? Is it much of a job and what additional parts are required? Thanks in advance.

Everything is possible if you spend enough time and money.
The manual ac operates the flaps that direct air by wire while the climate control has servos. You also need temperature sensors and the climate control module which is a bitch to wire up. Oh and the face plate with temperature settings.
If you have everything you need and know what you're doing it can be done in a day or two but expect some troubleshooting.
You could mix things up and just add a temperature sensor and make your own climate control computer withan arduino that switches the AC compressor on and off on a set temperature reading. This would be the easiest way.

You will need the climate control module, the coolant temperature sensor that sits under the heater matrix, the intake air temperature sensor near the heater resistor and you will need the flexible clear plastic hose that goes from the back of the heater control panel to the air distribution box. You will need to make a hole where the hose goes in the air box
