Issue With 2016 XC60

Hi All

Just come for some advice regarding me car

Had it from new in October 2016, not had any mechanical issues apart from the battery getting fried and taking out the Start/stop system (Long story)

anyway, in the last week or two the car has lost power on cold start ups, and on one or two occasions has conked out.

It had a good run on the motorway on Sunday, however the issue has happened again since...

Any Ideas?

Also, whats the warranty period from new? is it 2 years or 3?

thanks in advance

What engine?

Warranty is 3 years, but Volvo seem pretty good at making contributions to repairs up to 4 years, assuming FVSH (and maybe <100k miles?)

Fuel filter,,What mileage has it covered

Thanks for the replies.

It had a service in October ( 2nd service) at Halfords.. they did a manufactures service for me that included the fuel filter.

Its currently on 27000 miles

Its the D4 190

Have you used a code reader to see if there are any stored diagnostic trouble codes that could relate to this problem?

I doubt it's the fuel filter (as that would normally cause problems under heavy load) but maybe the D4 has an odd quirk that I'm not aware of? If so, then fitting a non-OEM fuel filter may also cause problems... certainly my previous car (a diesel Honda) really did not cope well with a non-OEM fuel filter.

Why on earth did you have the 2nd service at Halfords, rather than a Volvo dealer? Maybe that's led to this problem? It'll certainly affect future goodwill claims.

Wouldn't trust Halfrauds for anything.

I went to Halfords as they were over £100 cheaper and the lease company advised me to as thats who they would use if it was under a maintenance contract.

the Halfords service was (and was stamped as) a manufactures service.

See my post about the failure of my intank fuel pump on my 2015 d4 2.4 AWD.

It may be of some help or perhaps not.
