Angle/Bevel Gear Oil Bolt Location?

Tried to change the Angle/Bevel Gear Oil but couldn't find the fill bolt.
The bevel box appears to be different to what I've seen here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YFDpDk7gAw
And in Vida Diagrams and photos.

The car is a XC90 2013 reg (2014 in VIDA) D5 AWD.
The differential and gearbox look the same as other cars.

Does anyone know where I can find the drain/fill bolt?

Hi - I want to change my bevel gear oil also. Mine looks like yours. Did you locate the drain/fill plug? Is it the one highlighted with the blue circle in one of your pictures?

Thanks
James

I am pretty sure that it's the bolt that is circled and will be attempting this job in about 3 weeks.

Not entirely sure how to get the correct level with this box, heard so many conflicting things, so will extract all the oil I can and put the same amount back in.

Top tip, going to use some old identical milk jugs to easily measure the old and new fluid amounts.

If you do this job yourself please post up here to let us know how it went.

Thanks - If I get round to it before you do I will post the details. I bought one of those oil extraction pumps from amazon as used in the YouTube channel you referenced in your previous post,to do this and the rear diff.

I used that pump to do the rear diff and it worked brilliantly.

Did you do the Haldex and filter too? Reaching the Allen bolts on the filter cover looks tricky but doable.

Not done the Haldex yet. I have the kit to do the filter etc but it looks like a nightmare to get to it, it might be a bit easier once the haldex electronic unit is removed.
Also even removing the pump looks more difficult on the XC90 compared to the XC70 in the video. There is almost no gap between the pump housing and the drive shaft flange.

Please do post up here too if you do the Haldex.

Did you change the oil in the bevel gears as planned? Was it the bolt that's ringed in blue? Trying to do the same job on my 2010 XC70 and the fill plug isn't where I expected it. Hoping that the bevel box is the same as yours and you've located it whereas I failed.

Unfortunately, I had a serious accident and I'm not allowed to work on cars for now so not had a chance to try it yet.

Please do post up here if you do the job or find more information about this.

Thank you very much indeed for responding to my post. I am very sorry to hear about your accident.

If the weather is good enough tomorrow I will get underneath my XC70 and hopefully will be able to locate the filler plug. I will definitely update this thread when I find out more.

Get well soon!
