V90 cc towbar
I’ve seen a v90 cc at a Indy dealer and I would need to put a tow bar on it, does anybody have an idea on cost

I plan to wait until I can source a towbar from somewhere like Witter. |
£1000? I assume that's not for fixed towbar?
|
I paid around £850 for a factory fit semi electric towbar on a V90 I had in October 16 . Great towbar and has a system which allows the anti skid system to work and also you can check the caravan lights if you have the 12" electronic dash. I have the same bar on my XC90 as well and works very well with the rear camera and gives a line to follow when reversing up to the hitch. It also comes under the cars warranty as it is fitted by Volvo.

I've just checked the options list and it's described as folding @ £995.00. |
There is an OEM fixed towbar for the XC90, so perhaps it will become available for the XC60 as well.
I payd about 650€ installed. Not cheap, but much less than £1000! |
Have a look at the Witter website, a removable one is approx £650, I looked at this prior to taking the plunge with the Volvo one, admittedly more expensive but you do get the associated electrical bits as mentioned previously if you have the 12.3 TFT screen, but a lot easier than the witter removable we had on our S-Max. No kneeling on floor to take off the bar/cap and subsequent removal, then storing it somewhere and remembering to take it with you to get your van from storage.
Fixed one is cheaper again but you run the risk of bashed shins etc. |
I opted for the electric folding unit which cost £950, but I did get a discount as part of the deal when I bought the car. Doing a quick search, I see that Witter towbars offer a fixed flange type for £540 fitted and including electrics.

I took a look at the Witter website. I found a Westfalia towbar for the XC90.
Just as the Volvo item, it is a replacement for the complete bumper beam with a towbar attached. But from the picture, I am not convinced that it has the same strength, it looks less robust. https://www.witter-towbars.co.uk/tow...MpIDIwMTUgLSA= It may be important to consider the possible safety implications of having a less strong bumper beam fitted. |
