Alarm keeps going off.

Hi, in the last month the alarm goes off possibly once a week on my 2011 XC90.
I try and remember to turn off the interior sensor off on the dash sometimes but obviously that’s not the answer. The windows are closed and there’s no insects inside to set it off.
Would connecting up to a Vida thing find out if there’s a dodgy sensor?
By the way no ones trying to steal it, as I’ve checked on the cctv every time.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Jamie.

VIDA will tell you what sensor activate the alarm when it last went off.

That will help you to stop guessing...

Next question is has anyone living in the Stowmarket, Suffolk area got a Vida that they are willing to plug into my Volvo. I’m willing to pay for the trouble and naturally I’ll keep two metres away!

Vida will obviously help.
In my experience it could possibly be the battery in the sounder unit is on it's way out. I've had this issue with a couple of cars I've owned. Might be wrong but ..

+1 , exactly the symptoms my old XC70 had when the internal battery on alarm had failed.

I would get the car battery checked

Connect a battery charger (or small solar panel) to the car battery (connection points under the bonnet) - that will take the car battery out of the list of possible causes

Cheers

My car alarm has started to go off for no reason. I will connect a charger to the car battery today and see what happens. Tho I think the car battery is ok.

Can the battery in the alarm sounder be changed or is a new sounder required please?

Regards,

Stray electrical frequencies can set off the alarm.
My Son's RC car could set off my alarm when he played with it near my car.
