C30 D5 Belts etc

Hi. Just signed up, new owner of a C30 D5.

The last 2 mornings have been cold up here and got a slight noise when starting from cold, from reading other threads on here it could be the alternator pulley.

Do I also need to change all of the Auxillary Belt, idler and tensioner at the same time?

Any recommendations for the parts?

Thanks

The cambelt was changed at 80k.

Just had what was classed as a major service and a full check over at a volvo specialist as just bought it.

If they did the job according to volvos schedule they would have changed the aux belts etc as they must be changed with the cambelt .

Thanks for that. I will check the receipt.

Even If the aux belts have been changed when cambelt was done (8k ish ago) and I change the alternator pulley would the belts and tensioners need doing again?

I had a quick look at the aux belt and it is not frayed on the edges and on visual is not cracked.

Thanks

volvo belts don't fray or crack even when at their change interval , they should have clear text and VOLVO on them though

Ah right ok no problem, I just presumed all belts did with age. Yes they have clear text and Volvo on them.

Could the noise I am getting on start up be from the tensioners, idler or would this only be from the alternator pulley I am going to change?

I think I will change the alternator pulley and replace the aux belt(s).

watch the belts as someone revs the engine a bit , if you see one of the belts flapping that will be a seized alternator pulley clutch

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but not to car forums....!

It's not directly related to the D5.....but....

I am about to do a deal on a C30 1.6eDrive, and I would like to know the recommended mileage for the cambelt change on the 1.6 eDrive diesel.

The car is a 2010 car.

Thanks in advance !
