Volvo XC60 towbar electrics & TRM

Hi Hello all, my first post here.

I have just fitted a Brink detachable towbar to my 17 XC60 and now fitting the Volvo dedicated wiring. I found the bumper cut out needed a different shape to the Brinks instructions (Volvo socket is longer?) but other than that its all very easy.

But I can not figure out the very simple instruction "install the routed cable in fuse terminal F4". How does the female fuse connector go into the back of the fuse block? I have tried simply pushing this in but it wont budge. This is driving me mad!!

I am also confused if the module will work the lights without software or whether this needs software for functionality. I need to know as I have a MOT booked and wont be able to get the software done before the MOT...

Thanks!

This is uncanny, i've just done this earlier, i too had a mare of a job getting that orange wire into F4....i did find it easier to get rough with it and after separating the black cable block from the white "cable holder" the orange cable fell into the F4 slot. Then afterwards squeezed the two parts of the fitting back together....... Theres also a small red clip on the block that has to be removed first, ,,,,hope this helps.

Fantastic, really helpful! So the fuse block needs splitting? Dont all the other cables fall out too! I guess this is split by levering the black clips? i will have a look in the morning. Isn't the red clip just the fuse puller? The instructions seem to suggest this is the "catch".

Did you control module work from scratch, or does it need the software for basic functioning?

Thanks again.

You dont need to split it much, the wire will then go in easily, and yes ,it is those 4 small black clips that hold it together,. I haven''t got as far as checking out the TCM yet but i guess i will need a software update.....hope this helps...
