Can I ask for a lot of help please. Lol...

XC90 , 2007, road wheel, the bolts...

The locking wheel bolt (anti theft bolt) the key as knackered up on me & won't fit into the wheel bolt, tire on this wheel is pancake flat.

You probably think this is strange, but I'm not trying to steel any body's wheels, & the car is a family members.

I was onto Volvo main dealer & they say Id need a code for a replacement key.

Are the locking wheel bolts a normal bolt with just a funny shape that the key goes into or have they the anti theft spinning top on them. ?
Some have this collar that turns, some don't. Which is more likely on this 07.?

Also, will a wheel bolt remover have enough room between the wheel hole & the bolt.?

Any other ideas I can try to get this bolt out.. please.?

Hello I got a replacement from mcgaurd Germany they sent next day.i had the code but I think they can send correct one from photo of wheel nut

Hi, mine is my 03, and on mine the bolts are like any other bolt on the wheels, but have an insert that matches the special removal but. If the protrusions on that special nut have ground away, it needs replacement as it is used for all four wheels. I attach a pic of mine. I suspect someone was a tad over zealous with an impact gun. I am sure there is a max torque over which such damage is a potentisl risk.

I suggest you may need to go to Volvo to get a replacement or get all the lock nuts drilled off. The former may be the cheapest solution. They appear to be hardened steel so a pig of a job I suspect.. and all four. You could replace with just regujlar bolts, the same as the other four, but stand the risk of someone nicking your wheels.

These guys delivered me a Brand New McGard Key last week in 4 days from Germany to the Uk.

I lost the old key, never had the code for it, sent pictures of the wheel nut, V5 for proof of ownership, driving licence to prove its me, and a picture of the car.

Volvo could use their master keys and tell you the code as Volvo only used about 20 different designs back when our cars were new. They’d charge you labour to do it.

Think I paid extra 8 pound and ordered and was delivered overnight with dhl tracked

Il have proper look when I get home at the information & sites you gave me.
Then Ill let the sister know, but before any more mucking about goes on on that problem bolt I'd tell her get new replacement key, as it will be needed for the other wheels.

I dont think the tool you posted up will work. I dont know about your sisters car but on mine, the outer section used to spin.

If you know someone handy with a welder just get them to weld a nut onto the existing wheel bolt (it can be done without torching the wheel) and turn it off like normal.

I got all mine off and bought 4 normal used wheel studs and did away with the locking ones.

yes, thought as much mate (the tool wont work), most of the locking bolts have that spinning collar.

the weld a nut, thats last resort stuff.

she sent me a picture of the wheel bolt & the key. il try post it & see what folk think.
