If that's the white one it's an odd motor; on an 'L' 72-73 but with upright rear lights and cranked front bumper but flush door handles. Sadly looks like the A pillars are shot, otherwise fairly restorable.

With 164s (and probably other models) there wasn't a defined cut-off date before introducing changes - none of this "Tuesday the 19th" like BL etc, meaning loads of good components going straight into the bin.
A maroon one I had was registered in Jan '73 yet had a dropped front bumper and flush door handles - using up old stock I guess. My later '73 car has a straight bumper so obviously that year was when the changes were slowly incorporated.
Getting back on subject, that white one has the regular 164 problem - rusty scuttle under the windscreen: an expensive problem to cure, besides no new panels listed on the usual sites. However, Clive on here did a good job grafting a 240 windscreen surround into his - go buy the car and save another one.

I've wrecked down better cars in the past and will do in the future too. This 164 is dead, no power steering and the rust is too much, even for enthusiast. If it would be number 1....maybe I would save this.
Good luck, Kay

Kay - not sure about no power steering, as the big hoses from the pump bolted down near the pulley must go somewhere.... Admittedly my 164s aren't here to check steering box top area differences, but I have one of each so could check over the weekend I suppose (although that won't save the car.....).
And before you ask, no I don't need another project.

Yeah, I noticed the FrankenVolvo appearance too - mixed bag

Hi Paul, this car is with power steering, my fault. The pics are small.
I wouldn't buy it nevertheless.
And we both have enough projects and .... mess. (My position)
Good night, Kay

I see this car sold for a penny under £1000: anybody on here? Whilst it would be nice to see it restored, it sure does need some skillful bodywork.
Note to Kay: summer's just round the corner so lets enjoy!

Paul
