speedo 1987-
 

Hello , looking for preferably a new speedo for a 1988 and later VDO 340 , Ever since i got my 1988 2 years ago i have had speedo problems , the odometer stops , after 50 to 120 miles .. i have tried 2 other used ones and both have done it . I stripped down the original and found the shaft that goes horizontally from the main input shaft to the 90 degree worm gear is sloppy and the gear mesh tight .. cant fathom out why at the moment .
We never had any problems with speedos when the car was current or 15 years later ..

Been using the car a lot recently and over the last 8 days of going to and from work it is returning 42 mpg ! ( B14 4E 5 speed 1.7 transaxle )
