An EGR issue?

Hi
Have a V50 2005 2.0D and a couple of times when I pull away the engine hardly responds but when the accelerator is kept down for a while it bursts back into life.

Now I had this last year and bought a EGR blanking plate but it hasn't happened again until now so I didn't fit it.

Do you guys think the EGR may be the issue here and has anyone had this?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at the throttle body first, give it a clean and make sure the flap is moving freely and not sticking. If it is sticking a bit, then file the edges a tad. As for the EGR, you may as well just blank it, but make sure you unplug the connector to stop the engine light coming on!

I should have added that the throttle body is ok as I changed it a while ago as it was distorted.

Yes, I was thinking of fitting the blank plate but I wonder if anyone has had these symptoms?

Could it be something along the lines of a dodgy throttle position sensor or throttle module??

or just generally a blocked egr?

if it did it when you blanked off the EGR and then not again up until now.. it would suggest the EGR being blocked is the issue. rip it out, clean it with some carb cleaner and wack it back in then see how it goes

Well it turned out to be an egr issue as I thought.

The egr was replaced as it was sticking and the inlet manifold had to be cleaned out as it was all blocked up.

So much better now!
