Screeching noise XC60

My XC60 has just developed a very intermittent screeching noise. Appears to be coming from the front right hand side and can be heard from the outside of the car when driving.
Only seams to appear after the first two miles from a cold start. If you Barack of the gas when it starts and break gently the noise stops.
Found this video on YouTube of the exact same noise.
Any one any ideas?

have to admit that I cant hear anything on that video other than normal car noise.

Is it possible that what you are hearing in the wind noise which can come from the drivers door mirror and for which Volvo have a fix? It can be very loud at some speeds

Defiantly not wind noise as you can hear it with the window open

AUX Belt tensioner or belt maybe ?

Tensioner as it will start to screech when the knackered bearings have started to overheat.

If it is that fix urgently far too many horror stories of the belt going & taking out the cambelt at the same time.

I have exactly the same issue I'll try to attach the audio file to this (MP3 didn't work). My recording is better, but it is the same noise precisely.

I have a post for my V60 on here, which I'm now getting the ear of my volvo trechnicians now i have it recorded. I needs to be up quict loud, and I made sure the AC was off.

Volvo on hearing it now say this:

"Thank you for the recording it gives me something to get the technician to listen to so he know what sort of noise he is looking for. I will pass it to the technician on the day so he can have a listen.

I am wondering if it's connected to the driveshaft in some way as it's speed sensitive and seems to be rotational noise. We have had a couple of XC60's with a similar sounding noise and it turned out to be a metal plate on the driveshaft that’s fitted for installation that was rubbing, but it would only happen very intermittently. This would also only make a noise while driving, so having up on a ramp listening to it didn't help either.

It's only a thought, but might be something else to look at when it's here."

Thats the noise exactly Dave, please keep me informed how you get on an what the technician has to say when the car goes in.
It seams to me to be a rotational noise and not engine related because if you sliy iy into nutrel and blip the throttle the noise does not change, however drop down to about 15mph and it stops straight away.
On mine it only seams to occure within the fist few miles of a jouney.

For refrence mine is the D5 engine.

Not tried the neutral trick, but I have an auto D4 :)
Although we may have had parts fitted by the same fitter in the factory, as they are around the same age car I think. Could be the fitter has not removed some packaging from a part that sometimes moves. It is almost like a bit of hard plastic rubbing.

hi i think its dry wheel bearing to illiminate this turn wheel on full lock and spray wd40 where shaft enters hub then retest please update findings

Im sort of airing to it being a wheel brearing noise, as it seams more road speed than engine rpm releted.
Only lasts a short while then stops and only seams to be from a cold start.
Mine has done it twice now.
Monday, was the worst one and started after about a mile and lasted for probably half a mile down the road.
Today i noticed it again, diffrent road but again after about a mile but this time was not a pronounced as it was on Monday.

Car has done aproximatly 10,000 miles
