Retrofitting folding mirrors
My 2001 Ocean race has electric mirrors, but I'd like them to be folding. How tricky would it be to retrofit folding mirrors?

Fitting not too bad if you can find some, software to make them work will probably make you flinch!

As reggit says, fitting isn't a problem. Prices for a decent set from a breakers will be quite high, also don't forget you need the switch from the centre console.
I'd enquire about the cost of the software and downloading before you go any further. |

Hi i fitted a pair of folding mirrors. £60 for mirrors and switch from breakers, £30 for the loading of software 30mins fitting which was easy

My new XC70 has folding mirrors and they are so much better than old-school push in jobbies. Just fitted a Volvotec CFE so they open and close with the central locking which is pure luxury!

A bunch of us have just done a group buy on the XC90 forum. More info on the CFE: http://www.volvotech.eu/Function-Extender/cfe

Can't you just activate the power-fold mirrors in VIDA ?
|
VIDA can only activate auto fold / unfold if it was built into the car's software by Volvo
In the early P2 cars, like XC90, such as I have, the car has folding mirrors but no auto-fold/unfold function So there is nothing in VIDA that can be activated or deactivated. |
