Washer Bottle Recall (Inc V50, C70)

Front & Rear Windscreen washers may fail.

This is due to the windscreen washer motor and washer fluid pump.

Currently no information on VOSA, it may update sometime this month.

Contact your Volvo dealers to see if this affects your model.
MY2008 onwards
It is chassis model dependant and does not affect every car
Should take 1.5 hours

I understand, from the recall notice I have received, that the problem may relate to water leaking inside the washer pump unit, through the wires of the harness and into the CEM. This may cause problems, and in the worst cases lead to fire.

Manufacurer ref R39247
VOSA ref R/2011/163

thanks for these. I've had both of these done two days ago.

They did manage to break my steering colum nuts so they had to replace a few bits afterwards and keep the car over night but glad to know its fixed.

They did knock some switches I have under the steering column too which I wasn't too please about - I put them there for my stuff.

Hi,

Just wondering if the local Volvo dealer is supposed to perform these fixes for FREE given a 4yrs+ old car?

Yes,

If it is a recall then the manufacturer has authorised the fix for all the cars affected no matter what age/mileage they are.
