They did a R-Sport tuning kit for the B14 in the 343 (hotter cam, a sports exhaust, and an electric fan, I think), so it would stand to reason that similar treatment could have been given to the B110/130 in the 66.

Thanks - interesting to know.
Years and years ago I nearly bought a B14 cam in an R-Sport box...goodness knows if it was really something fruity or not! I decided to pass, in the end. I think your route of fitting the Gordini engine would be far more worthwhile! cheers James |

I think you'd see a greater response to further tuning (Webers and a nice exhaust manifold, etc) with a Gordini head than the normal B14-style head.
It doesn't look like there was ever a factory big-bore option for the iron Cleon. Some of the later 1.6 developments (Dacias, etc) used a stroker crank (and presumably shorter pistons), as did the Oettinger 1.6 kit. The more famous factory 1.6 Gordini (and Alpine) engines were from the alloy Cleon family, and I don't know how interchangeable the bits are! cheers James |
How much extra power can the Variomatic put up with. Has anyone gone down this path before with the 66?
