Could be a bit premature :

I thought they’d already stopped.

Folly, sheer folly, the future will confirm! They’re great things .

"Only five years ago, the diesel engine was our bread and butter in Europe" I can't help thinking they won't be saying that about electric!

They really have put all there eggs in one basket, the torslanda plant is having a new battery facility added on in conjunction with a company called northvolt.

The nordics really have taken electric on, I was reading an article on CNBC, over 80% of new cars sold were electric. I’ve already seen a number of new EX30s on our roads, a local dealer salesman has won an award for the number of EX30 orders he has taken. I think certain people are switching, they like to keep up with the Jones’s after all.

My friend has just got an C40 through a work scheme, I took it for a blast. What a nice thing. Silent, still feels like a volvo, goes like stink. I would have one, but it only suits me as a second vehicle. I couldn’t be doing with only been able to do 200 mile before having to plug the bloody thing in.

I just can’t see electric taking hold here mainstream, forget the infrastructure argument, it’s our routines we don’t like to change, who wants to go on holiday and fight over a car charger on your journey or land late at night only to remember you needed to charge the bloody car on your journey home just as an example. It’s mindset that has to change more than anything which we are not very good at.

Was reflecting on this on my work trip yesterday - from East Yorkshire to Wakefied, then to Attleborough in Norfolk, and then back home through Norfolk and Lincolnshire.

With a fully charged XC40 say, I'd be looking for a re-charge on the way home, this is a typical garage in that neck of the woods.

Helped my understand the term "Range Anxiety" - the answer is you need to meticulously plan your journey to include charging and not dropping below say 20% in case there is a queue or they're not working. And that's not easy in many parts of our country....

Not for me.

Shell are supposedly closing petrol stations too. It seems like there's a shift to electric with no proper infrastructure plan.

I've definitely come across more EV's on the road. Its actually surprising how many there are around here.

i do circa 25k a year in my V90 with work, and tow a bloody great twin axle caravan to France with bikes on the roof, can you imagine how many times id have to stop on my way down to the South of France for our annual holiday with an EV!?

No thanks

Why do I think that this is all going to end very badly?

The 2020s might well go down in history as the decade of virtue signalling, and also the decade when that virtue signalling led to the downfall of The West. It feels as though the only time that people look up from their phones and tablets is to virtue signal. Not a good way to deal with the world around them.

(And why won't my iPad let me position my cursor where I want it to be?)

(And why do I feel so negative about things?)
