What a disappointment!
Went there and was told that everything had been done for the first owner already...
So I have some time spared to spend on cleaning the leather seats

Always worth a check, you could have saved the journey and just called your local dealer to find out.

Apparently NO recalls for my car?

Rang my local Volvo dealership to request recall information on my Volvo C30 57 plate SE Sport 2.0D...

She said there were Zero recalls for my model..

I've just counted 18 from Jan07 to Present...

Is this true?

SonyVaio Jul 5th, 2014 17:49

I can only assume she meant there are zero recalls outstanding on your car??

Not that I'm aware of off the top of my head but these cars are usually extremely good at letting you know long in advance with a message on the dash saying 'Power System Service Required' which indicates your alternator is failing.

Just ensure you replace it with the correct type (120A for a 120A or 150Afor a 150A). It is actually advisable if you currently had a 120A to change it with a 150A but be aware the car should be given a software update (from Volvo) to tell it of the change.

Guys do I have to search through and find every recall that could affect my car? Or can I just ring the dealership and ask them?

Are they obligated to carry out the work? And for completely free of charge? Apologies for what may come as very basic questions but I have never dealt with a recall before or indeed know if mine has had or missed any.

Yes it is easiest to just phone the dealer and they are obligated to do the work and for free.
