universal ball joint covers, any good?

I've got a 2002 c70 t5, the dust covers on my lower arm ball joints have split and have had it.
The joints themselves are good.
Has anyone here used the universal covers you can get off eBay?
Are they any good?

I stuck a screwdriver through one of the boots on T5 ball joint, when doing wheel bearing, just used to stick a bit of grease through the hole whenever I had wheels off/changed brake pads etc, and was fine for years, car has gone now, but would be an MOT failure now, however exhaust hanging off is now only an advisiory......... its called progress
