School me in the diesel clutch set up...

Dogdish flywheel - whats that off?

You need the flywheel from a '90-94 940 with LH2.4 and the M46 or M47 gearbox (N/A or Turbo).

While it's removed you might as well replace the rear crank seal...

...and replace the flywheel and pressure plate bolts with new...

...and change the clutch fork stuff...

...and just for the hell of it change the M90 seals and oil:

Spot on baggy! Your a star!

Ill go to volvo for all the seals etc.

I seem to remember someone saying get the clutch from some where else as its cheaper and has genuine parts or something like that?

baggy798 May 28th, 2012 11:51

Yeah, the part number for the LUK clutch kit is in the top picture. It had genuine Sachs bits inside.

One of your local motor factors should be able to order it in for you.

volvoz2000 May 28th, 2012 12:20

sachs part number is 3000 696 001

if ordered from here:

http://www.wanapart.co.uk/p6618020/C...duct_info.html

it is cheaper than anywhere in any box and this one comes in a sachs box

£176.50 inc vat and shipping

factors are asking £250 for an LUK one these days that may or may not be a sachs one in the box

cracking write up though Baggy... spot on

I just ordered one from that site.

Got a phone call saying the only one available is in Germany and i would have to pay £31 for delivery Friday or i could get a different brand for the same price delivered tomorrow. I told them i specifically wanted the sachs and they said they couldnt do anything so requested a refund... pshhh extra 30 squids cos the clutch is in Germany.....

volvoz2000 May 28th, 2012 18:42

damn, thats a shame.... not sure they are allowed to do that tbh

????

The 700/900 diesel clutch is different to the petrol ones, its a heavy duty one? Had a heavy duty clutch in my 900 TD as standard

doingitsideways May 28th, 2012 23:00

That's why he wants to know all about it Laney, Chris is a boost junky so he'll be whacking the turbo right up, the diesel clutches stand up surprisingly well to abuse!! ;)

Steve
