Injector cleaning
On my 2.0d V70 it's beginning to get more smokey. Going to strip down each injector and clean them.
Has anyone else done this? The smoke is white/grey and black. Hard to tell sometimes though. I've used no oil or coolant. I removed the egr and cleaned that so injectors are next on the hit list. Also need to find my kangaroo boost problem too.... Only noticed this after fitting a new coolant temp sensor so must have done something to a pipe/connector. |
Have a look on youtube for videos - I've stripped in injectors down before and cleaned them and it was actually quite easy - but you need a ultra clean work bench, magnifying glass and good light.
The ones I did were Bosch ones, I think they're siemens on the 2.0d but likely similar. Might be worth buying a second hand one to practice on first and source of parts... |

Thanks again. |
I thought the DPF caught everything so never understand how dirty injectors can produce sooty exhaust on a modern diesel.
