DPF regeneration using DICE/VIDA

Hi,

Is it possible to perform dpf regeneration on a 2006 D5 using the VIDA software (such as the cloned version from Cheshire D5?) I did some research and found info but nothing conclusive

Thanks in advance

Yes.
Vida contains full instructions and can perform regenerations no problem.

Thanks Si, that’s great news.

I was actually just checking to see if my windows laptop had enough ram to run Vida, and sadly it only has 2GB. Looks like I’ll be going for the laptop package.

If your laptop is otherwise ok apart from RAM, an extra 2GB can be had for £10-15.
You don't necessarily need one of my laptops.

That’s a good point, it appears to be ok otherwise, and windows 7 appears to be about £15.

Exactly.
I wouldn't run Vida with 2GB. It's like wading through treacle compared to a higher spec laptop.

It's not even that.
There are free Windows 7 downloads available then you just buy a 7 Professional product key on eBay for about £4.
The only "problem" is time taken to set up and whether folk want the hassle.
Some have more, time, patience and inclination than others hence why I sell the ready setup laptops.

Hi Dave, do you find that it works with 2GB?

davebb May 18th, 2019 19:14

Yes it is slow but it works,
Dave

I’m happy with that, it’s not something that gets used regularly. It’ll save me upgrading the RAM. Just need to sort windows 7 out.
