1995 940 "stall out" problem.. HELP!!

'95 940 with 187,000. After four years of great service, an intermitten and potentially dangerous situation: Interimttent and unpredictable "stall outs" which occur when engine is hot and while in motion.

RPM gaugue goes to zero, all dashboard warning lights come on. Sometimes, the engine will "kick back" on but invariably have to pull over into safety lane.
Switch off ignition. Wait for about 60-seconds and the engine will re-start.

Back on the road and maybe I'll get another 3-4 miles and the same thing ocurrs. Very dangerous problem when in traffic.

My service tech has replaced some of the vacuum hoses and the crank sensor but the problem persists.

When starting from cold absolutely no problems, runs like a "dream". However, get the engine hot and "watch-out"... it seems that if I keep engine RPM to just under 2.0 it will keep going.. a tad over 2.0 and I can expect a stall-out.
