Speed limiter
The Guardian is reporting that Volvo intend to implement a speed limit on all their cars from next year.
It will be interesting to see if it affects sales, or whether other manufacturers follow suit. I can’t see the BMW / Audi customers being happy if it becomes commonplace; no doubt there will be plenty of people offering to de-restrict them. https://www.theguardian.com/business...e_iOSApp_Other |

Was interesting to see how it worked, and it did do a hard limit at the programmed speed. Which sometimes was a pain... |
You’ll find that they’re all waiting for someone to try it and then the rest will impliment it in time. Becides, as the smart motorways expand and more and more speed cameras are introduced breaking the speed barrier will become riskier.

According to Vida my car is already limited to 240 kph / 150 mph
Don't know if i can alter it though  |
Scotty.. Warp5, please, when you`re ready...

Mine (2003 v70) already has a limiter, if I try and go over 80, the noise from the passenger seat rises exponentially!

It’s interesting that Volvo are limiting the car to a speed that people as a who hardly use but they’re moaning about it anyway... Is it because it’s being imposed on people or don’t oeople care about the safety of their fellow motorists?
