Help....dash gone bonkers...... Confused

2004 D5
A while ago I lost the radio display intermittently between on-off-strange characters.
Then the radio would not work completely and come back on.
Then two days ago my wife lost indicators and the whole dash.
Also the drivers door window would not go up and the car would not lock.
Left stranded she had to use her old faithfull 99 V70
I had a look and soon worked out if I remove fuse 20(infotainment)
The dash came back to life but now the fuel gauge doesn't work and extra messages for .....
SRS airbag
Antiskid brake service
Fill washer resivoir

I then found that someone had connected something to the back of the stereo before and now removed it.
Subsequently left 4 bullet crimps for the 2 green and 2 white wires.
I found one of the green one's was not crimped correctly.
I've sorted out and hope all would be fixed but no.

Vida says communication problems with various modules
And seems to know that a dial or lamp is not working.
I'm going mad.....
Where do I start...... Please.......

check all connections on the cem these kind of electrical fits can also be caused by a low battery condition or a failing dim .

Yes, I've removed the dim to re solder the usual joints but found my dim is a different type to the ones on the you tube videos.
Last year I had some communication issues in hot weather and removed the CEM but our car is early enough not to suffer from the leak into it.
I checked the plugs then and all seemed okay.
Rung Volvo diagnostics and he's said see how it goes so it may be time to give him a call on Monday.

Oh, and battery is six months old and charged up perfect...

try running with stereo disconnected

Done that, fuel gauge not working and rear doors not locking.
Plus the usual air bag fail??

Sounds like CEM. Fuel gauge and doors were part of my problems

I thought maybe CEM but not sure as the DIM gives similar faults
But, if you've had as CEM issue with the same faults as me then it looks like it's pointing in that direction. I'll be ringing Volvo diagnostics Monday morning 👍

Spoke to Volvo diagnostics and he thinks that the fuel gauge and both rear door locks plus boot and rear parking sensors are on the REM. He suggests removing the battery and then stereo and and bridging the two green wires and then the two white wires and leaving it for ten minutes and reconnect the battery.
If all sorted then the stereo is causing a can bus confusion.
I'll do it tonight and post my findings.

Disconnected battery and Bridged the can bus wires and left stereo unconnected
Reconnected the battery and all sorted. Apart from the airbag warning of course.
Fuel gauge now working and all doors now locking and unlocking.

Disconnected battery and reconnected the stereo and problems back.

Removed stereo and reconnected and all okay again.

Safe to say the stereo is the cause.
Got a decision to make now..........
