Engine System Service required
 

Dear all
I have a 2010 XC90 D5 2.4 geartronic with 110,000 miles

Had a long journey from Manchester to Plymouth so decided to ensure oil was ok - was really low at dipstick so topped up oil about may be 1/2 l at most

Drove over 550 miles (return to Manchester) no problems driving throughout.

Two days after I return Engine system Management Line comes on

Did check dipstick and its right at the top

I did check the codes using the 1 and pressing the milometer and it read code 167 - not sure what it means
Car drives ok
Any thoughts ? why would it take over 550 miles for Engine System service light to come on ?

Also when I took of the plastic cover off the Engine

The connector from the swirl valve is missing is this the cause or is this just an old fault ?

Any thoughts - I may have to contact local garage

You put too much oil in
Oil should never be over 3/4 on the dipstick, you want 2 or 3 Xs showing

Drain or suck a bit of oil out
