Service reminder reset
 

Following a bad experience with recent main dealer service I am considering using an independent garage next time round. However is it possible to reset the Make time for service reminder other than at the main dealer. . . ? Thanks in anticipation

Your independent will require access to VIDA in order to reset the service reminder.
As you are not a million miles from York, why don’t you try Hutton Bros at Shipton by Benningbrough, they are well established Volvo specialists who have access to all the relevant software.

It is possible to reset the reminder without recourse to any tech as I had to do on my XC60 once when the main dealer failed to do so. There are numerous tutorials online. One I found at http://www.volvohowto.com/how-to-ser...o-v40-2012-on/ Can be a bit fiddly though.

Thanks for that, have reset many previous service reminders on previous Volvos but hadn’t seen anything on the V40 , thanks for the link.

Managed to do this today, the only one that worked for me was a utube post by Worthyo xc 2014, many V40 / V60 owners have had success with this, excellent.
