V60 belts and doors message
5 Attachment(s)
My 63 plate V60 often stores a message stating belts and doors. The display normally goes away very quickly after startup; however sometimes the belts and doors picture stays displayed for several seconds and is stored as a message in the menu. I don't get a warning noise or have the display go red. The car is currently in with the dealer again but they are struggling to find anything wrong. Has anyone else experienced this?

I get this all the time. I presumed it was because I always have a dog restraint inserted into one of the belt receptacles in the back seat but no one is sat in that seat.

I see this sometimes - not usually if I am in the car alone but sometimes if there is one or more passengers.
It also showed up when I had not closed the boot properly - but that is when I want to see it. |
When you find the answer please post it as I also get this periodically :(

And me. Usually if someone's sat in the back.

I get the same message sometimes but I don't get the message in picture 4.

It does that when the engine is running, or in start stop mode, and another rear seat passenger opens the door, closes the door and belts up.
Press OK and disappears. I get it a lot when picking the kids friends up on the way to the gym. |
It assumes that if one of the rear doors is opened that someone has got in, and since there aren't sensors on the rear seats (at least not in mine), the display stays up as a reminder.
I find it quite irritating actually as I regularly open the rear door to sling my bag into the back. |
After the second time of asking the main dealer can't find anything physically wrong and nothing shows up on the diagnostic computer. They have opened an enquiry with Volvo. I'm not holding my breath for an answer, but maybe if more people complain about it they may doing something.

My 3 month old XC60 is currently back with the supplying dealer with this fault. They are scratching their heads! Interestingly, the 65 Reg XC60 R-Design that they have given me as a courtesy car has the same fault!
