Volvo V70 / 850 cargo cover repair kit
Hello
Get your cargo cover back to rolling back. I made repair kit for this well known issue on Volvo P80 platform. It is metal insert between end trim and cargo cover, really easy to install https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282896282...84.m1558.l2649 For more info send a message. |
Answer for SurfyDave questions from PM, I canīt sent PMs back so this is only option how to answer.
Originally is cargo cover tensioned in plastic end caps which breaks and it doesnt roll back. This is metal insert which fit into end cap and have tube with 2 slots which get cover back to tensioned state. Hardest part of fitting it is to remove broken plastic from cargo cover shaft, whic is reason why it doesnt roll back. I also made instructions with pictures for how to fit it. When you send me a e-mail adress I will send it to you, i donīt know how to send it thru this forum. Nobody who buy it dont have problem with fitting. Sorry for my broken English, Iīm not native speaker. |

I have had a couple of these repair items for my roller blind off calbony. They do work and are strong. After some initial fumblings, they are fairly straight forward to fit, but like any job, they do require a degree of skill.
There are two issues though:- The first is that although the blind now works, there is nothing to stop the end caps from coming off, as there is nothing that secures the end caps to the metal repair pieces. This could be a little dangerous if the caps fall off while you are holding the end, as the metal repair pieces are under high tension!! Also they don't fit all rollers, as some rollers are very slightly different and need some fettling to make good. They are better now they are laser cut, but still don't fit all types without work. |
