CD changer

I have a 2002 / 2003 C70. It is equipped with a Volvo 6 CD changer in the boot.

It will no longer read CDs loaded in the changer.

The radio and tape player work fine. When I select CHANGER there is activity from the changer in the boot and on the display it scrolls through the six CD (it does not load them). Then states CD 00-00.

Any ideas?

Try a 'cleaning disc'. If that doesn't work see if you can get to the lens with a cotton bud and wipe it gently with alcohol.

I thank you for the suggestion.

I tried a CD "cleaning disc" but the CD changer is not loading (drawing in) the disc to the lens.

Any other ideas?

PS the lens in inaccessible: the CD changer is in a tight compartment in the boot. It is hard to access the cartridge which carries the six CDs
