2017 S90 D4 oil and filter change

Anyone due one of these at home? My car is due out of warranty soon and I’m happy to do this at home. Just wondered where the filter was located and does it need a special tool to undo it. ? Any tips on undoing the under tray?

I have the diagnostic tool to reset the service indicator btw, I bought it to wind back the rear callipers when I changed the pads a couple of months ago

Also, what’s the change interval for the air filter, according to volvo, it’s done every 4th service which seems a very long time.

Thanks In advance !

Well , I had an hour spare so I thought I’d have a quick look.
The bumper was high enough to clear my drive up ramps so I ended up doing it all within an hour, it was a doddle.
The undertray is dead light and even has a couple of clips to hold/locate it whilst undoing the torx screws (and hand tight and screw into plastic clips so no danger of corrosion) .
The filter is set on the right in front of the engine (so just behind the bumper). I used the Volvo tool, glad I ordered that, as I think it’s a bit tight to get a chain wrench in. The filter housing has a Allen bolt to drain it down so limits the mess

The oil drain was towards the back but central and accessible.

Nice easy job (compared to my previous jaf XF) as long as you have the tool to release the oil filter .

how much oil did you put in , it should have been exactly 5 Litres ?
I Hope it was 0W/20 volvo spec VCC RBS0-2AE

It should have had the oil level gauge reset too .

Pretty sure it’s actually 5.1L, but I’ve added 5 litres and level looks fine so far though I’ll keep an eye on it .
Yes, it was the right spec (I made sure of that)
Not sure about the resetting the oil level Gauge though. Are you referring to a different engine?
I have reset the service indicator.

should be ok , the spec is 4.8 to 5.2 , not sure why the variation is so wide , but having done well over 1000 of these i have found the optimum is 5 litres which causes no problems now , a good figure too as you don't need to buy an extra litre bottle .
The resetting of the oil level gauge is a mandatory part of the service , It makes what ever level you put in to be the H mark on the gauge . It will then fine tune itself over 20 miles or so .
If someone else put the wrong amount in last service and reset the gauge it will not match what you put in , that is the point of resetting the Level Gauge .
