out of interest, how are you recording these? Just with you updating one day after another, is there a nightly drag strip where you are?

Hi guys, just in from Crail where we took Jacq's car for a wee play today, unfortunately it was ****ing down until 1 pm then started to dry but ended up doing all the runs on a wet then damp track so 60ft's weren't the best.
Anyway, this thread needs a bit of updating, and tbh it also needs a bit better structure, I came on looking for peoples terminal speeds for comparisons, especially Spesh's and Stuart Williams, does anyone recall what the terminals were for these??? Anyway quoted below are the old times, I shall put up a current 2009 list, that'll onyl have us on it at the moment, feel free to add to it with both time, 60ft, and terminal speed, just the time does not tell you much about the car and how it performs, even if you did it in 2005, if you remember the 60ft and terminal etc add it on. We will updated Jacqs time once we get back up on a dry day, we got 13.82 @ 110.3mph today (very poor 2.51 60ft because the traack was still cold and damp, I also managed a 14.8 @ 112.2mph on a wet track with a shocking 2.96 60ft earlier in the day lol) The 60ft shows how well the car got off the line, the terminal is a good indicator of the cars actual grunt, hence why IMO it's important to have all 3 in a table, or at very least the time and terminal speed. So, with the old list for reference quoted underneath, please copy and past this list and add to it. Thanks. (I've added in the people who did have terminal speeds included from the previous list) PS- I'll do a long winded post about todays adventures in a seperate thread lol CURRENT BEST TIMES v6en S40 T4 13.82@110.3mph , 2.51 60ft (Damp track) - Crail Raceway 26/7/09 JUDGENINJA, 855 T5, Lightweight model, 14.224@101.17mph Santa Pod 13/8/06 Quote:

hi i went to thorney island at the weekend had major troubles with traction in 1st and 2nd gear but got an ok time considering i only got induction kit and bleed valve on actuator running at 1 bar on standard manegment i got 15.3 1/4 mile also my clutch seems to slip in 3rd about 3-4000 rpms then grips again does this sound a good time considering my circumstances

cheers Spesh and Russ, good times, even better terminals, impressive.
What were the 60ft times for those runs? in the dry?? any vids? Looks like it'll be next year before we get Jacqs on the strip again, running out of good weather time and car off the road due to a slightly more than slight setback lol. |
