C30 - fan(?) noise
 

Hi all,

I have a 2011 C30 1.6 D2. Whenever I drive any sort of distance (i.e. not just moving it off the drive), there's what I think is a noise coming from one of the fans - my dad reckons it's at the back of the engine, nearest the cockpit.

I can best describe it as a 'whoop' sound; it does it five times, then stops.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or any ideas what it might be?

Could be the AC, have you tried turning it off to see if it stops? I don’t know how long it take to do a cycle but it does make that sort of sound.

Thanks for the reply. I went for a drive earlier - air con and all fans switched off inside the car, and the noise still happened sadly.

Any other ideas?

Damn, that was my only idea, sorry.

No worries. It's still under the three month warranty from when I bought it anyway so I'll have a look into that
