Loud whooshing noise when driving but not idling
 

Hi, my 2012 xc60 2.4d4 has just thrown up a engine system service required message and has started making a loud whooshing noise when driving but not when stationary. It has been hissing on acceleration since i bought it but thought that was normal as garage couldn't find any faults. Can anyone give me any ideas of what to look for and where? cheers.

Look at the pipes going to and from the turbo.

Hearing a whoosh means that you have a large charged air leak somewhere

Sounds like intercooler pipe (charge pipe) they do split cost around £110 for pipe and take about 30mins to replace car raised up and bottom cover off
