D5 swirl flap removal
Has anybody permanently removed the swirl flaps from the d5???
|
No, but they have been tied in the full open position for nearly 2 years, probably 30,000 miles, no issues yet! 1 code is recorded for the actuator out of range but no warnings present.

Show me a picture. What position is fully open?

OK. So fully up. Thanks.
Mine's been disconnected for ages. Never any issues that I'm aware of, and never gone into limp-home. I wonder does it really make any difference to performance? |
interesting, mine threw up an engine service message when the arm came off and the flap was in the up position,( which I assumed to be closed) when I reconnected it , it was then at the opposite end of travel, car now fine
