Bsr rica mte

Which should i go for? I have heard good things about BSR. they also have the highest gains and seem to do extensive testing. RICA is a mixed bag some swear by them others say that if it doesn't work there is noone to help.

I am leaning towards BSR but i'd like to hear aboutanyone who has had a remap. would it be better going to a rolling road and getting one done?

BTW I'm new!

Hello!

Can you tell us which car you have, its year of manufacture and whether it is standard?

Regards, Don.

PS well worth joining www.t5d5.org where most of the experienced owners of later modified cars hang out.

If you are in Cambridge, there is an excellent RICA agent near Ely called Kings of Witcham who will look after you very well. They used to be a franchise Volvo dealer but are now an independent. However they are still fully kitted out with the same equipment as when they were a Volvo dealer.

Kings of Witcham can install the upgrade for you while you wait. It's a reprogram of your ECU carried out via the OBD2 diagnostics port. They will perform VIDA diagnostics on your car to ensure your car is ok for tuning.

The RICA upgrade is 100% service compliant so your normal servicing schedule can be carried out as before, including any Volvo factory software updates. If you do need an update from Volvo, the RICA software can be reinstalled free of charge with the latest Volvo updates included.

Details of the RICA ECU upgrade for your car are available here:

http://www.rica-uk.com/viewcar.aspx?vehicle=147

As you can see from the chart, the RICA upgrade delivers significant gains throughout the entire rev range. The RICA upgrade is designed to give you smooth power delivery with good mid-range grunt.

Kings of Witcham can be contact by telephone on 01353 778403 or send them an email to info@kingsofwitcham.co.uk

Some of my customers who already have BSR are considering changing to RICA.

Guys, isn't 250bhp>310bhp a tad optimistic from just a remap?
I have been interested in them for a while, but a 60bhp, OR, 24% increase seems huge.

Yes it is,and not doable without anything else been done.
Normally is about 30-35 bhp gain.

i had a rica 304 but i didnt like it after a while. too much torque to start with which gives you wheel spin (bye bye tyres) and not much in the mid and less at the top end, plus the car runs lean, but i also had extra modds and a rica only suites a standard car as it mapped for that only. instead of a rica get a mbc or a ebc i didnt feel much difference apart from the cost.

this is just imo.

Regardless of what map you go for I would advise driving in you normal fashion with A VCT2000 or similar connected before and after to see if the throttle mapping is progressive from 0-100% pedal or the car could have bad traction issues in wet weather. Any Volvo dealer or good independent can do that for you.
