Towbar wiring diegram

Hiya Guys,
Can anyone help i have just fitted a towbar to my 98 S40 but i didnt get a wiring diagram with it, I have looked all over the net and cant find one.

So if anyone has got any links or have fitted a towbar and still have the wiring diagram to hand could you let know what colour wires go where.

Thanks in advance

Hi David - what are you looking for exactly? I'm guessing that you have fitted a relay and are looking which relay wires are for which lights... Correct?

If so, try this:

Towbar electric on s40/v40 , 1996 - 2004 can be routed directly from rear lights, no other drivers or interfaces are needed. Also you can find grey 4-pole connector with permanent supply, switched supply, ground and brake light, at the LH rear light. Don't forget to replace flasher relay with stronger one, and maybe route extra contact and wire from C2 terminal on flasher, to instrument cluster for trailer flasher control light.
One minor thing of OEM wiring harness is some relay in the middle, that cuts out the car's foglight, so that it lits only on trailer.

I know now what the black box is for, But whats the other box for?

Other box looks like a relay as well ?

I've put a towbar on my previous '97 V40 and on my current '04 S40 - for both of them I just used the same black by-pass relay that you have. All the advice that I got was to use a by-pass relay.

Thats cool i will only use the black box relay then

Cheers again guys
