First look at 2021 V90
Hi all,
I will be ordering a new V90 rather soon as a lease through work, I have been waiting for the 2021 V90 to come out. Here in Sweden it is now available for order and is in the build tool. Have a play with it yourself here. It's in Swedish of course and packages will be different in the UK but you can get a feel for what's new. I will make some observations here though, my interest is in the inscription level so that is where my focus will be, I will not bother pointing out the more obvious changes: T6 Twin engine is now an option as well as T8, this is the same engine and electric motor combination, the only difference is the petrol engine is tuned to output a bit less. https://i.imgur.com/PFF6EIt.png All petrol options are now mild hybrids. https://i.imgur.com/1iktqlr.png No visible tailpipes on any trim level, I assume they're moving to a more electrified image regardless the engine choice. New shape structure to the rear lights, they still have the same outline but have a bit of sculpting https://i.imgur.com/r4H0RUO.png Colours: more grey? gone are any of the really vibrant colours, there are not even any vibrant colours for R-design. https://i.imgur.com/l6MF86w.png https://i.imgur.com/5cR5psc.png drive mode selector has been changed, gone is the nice shiny faceted wheel, instead there seems to be some sort of black square dial thing, maybe it's a push and twist type control https://i.imgur.com/0TVOA1c.png the scuff plate at the entrance to the boot seems to be all plastic now rather than with metal as before, looks cheaper https://i.imgur.com/glmlMub.png The interior trim wood is now either grey ash or pitched oak. You don't get to choose this seperately it ocmes with the different seat/interior colours. ask grey https://i.imgur.com/0mkLSP7.png pitched oak https://i.imgur.com/eoLi23J.png To get pitched oak you have to have a blonde, maroon or amber seat choice, or the new midnight zink wool seat option. Speaking of interior options, things have changed around quite a bit here, remember i'm focusing on the inscription level, there are other seat options too. First change I notice is that if you want the maroon or amber seats, they are only available in ventilated nappa leather, there are no non-ventillated nappa options now either. There is a new slate grey option for the standard leather and the nappa leather. as well as two wool options Midnight Zink wool https://i.imgur.com/4lStYdN.png Slate Grey wool https://i.imgur.com/Yragp6k.png Slate Grey ventillated nappa https://i.imgur.com/MQv3g1H.png That's the rundown of the changes i've noticed so far. There are a whole raft of changes as so how the different packages work but that's unique to each market and i doubt many of you will find the Swedish packages of much interest. |
The front bumper on the inscription is a bit bland; I am sure it improves efficiency but boring. I do like how certain things are standard in your inscription options like laminated windows.

Seems the UK config only lets you choose a T8 for the S90??

My Swedish is terrible but I do like the look of that wool interior.
Can you get that as ventilated/cooled or is that for the leather only? |

I can't be sure, but the price of the wool seats being rather less than the ventilated nappa leather, I would think they are not ventilated. It's probably not as necessary in hot weather with wool seats compared to leather. |

The center console storage compartment lid / armrest is also different. It used to be shaped and with a hidden open button, now it's a straight line with a visible button.
In Denmark, laminated glass windows are now standard, used to be an option. |
