Help drivers door window
 

Hi my drivers door window goes down but won't go up when switch is operated. .the switch woud not go either way earlier but then it worked OK. then later it woud go down but won't go up .take it is the switch or the wire loom.o the passenger window went dead briefly too but works OK at moment. I've got a plastic sheet over the window tonight so bit desperate at moment

I had a similar issue. Can you feed the window motor directly, to bring up the window.
I was lucky. Cleaning everything and contact cleaner on the switches worked. Apparently ALL the switches involved have to be working properly, not that there is more than one with the driver’s side.

Thanks for input I'm hoping it's a switch problem as I have a spare switch ..its raining heavily here at moment 7.0 clock in morning but checking the car the plastic sheet is holding up!.

Did you try to close your window while opening/closing the drivers door? I am having a similar issue with the power mirrors, they only work with the drivers door closed. I guess one of the wires is broken due to fatigue because of opening / closing the door.
The power for both windows run through the drivers door, so it is very well possible that a passenger window malfunction has the same root cause.

Do you hear a clicking noise when pushing the button? An oveload relay will cut the power when the window is sliding too heavily or when it has reached its end position.

ThNks all for input I have changed the switch and normal service is resumed . So now I need to investigate what's causing the switch failure .any suggestions most welcome it visably looks OK.
O I had a passenger mirror problem not working I managed to take a wire from the toggle controle to the large junction block at the driver's footwear I had to thread it through the door and pillar it's on show a bit but fixed the mirror ok d
