Volvo chrome edged screen/dash vent + other easy upgrades

Hi All

While looking for easy things to add to my newly acquired 2015 V60, I found people in LHD markets fitting this:

https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...bezel-39836089

Looks a lot better IMHO - it’s odd that this one very central piece was left black and a bit cheap looking.

But the main problem... can anyone find a RHD version?

Other easy to add things I’ve found online and done:
Boot light on RHS actually in the boot (pre-wired, Just cut hole and slot in)
Frameless autodimming mirror (pre-wired) Though it doesn’t clear in reverse-think the mirror is from the wrong model year for my car...still better than zero autodimming.
Cargo area power socket (pre-wired) Just add fuse and socket
Sunglasses holder - replaces drivers grab handle, Volvo want £50 but can be found online for £15

Things that I’d like but not done yet:
Puddle lights in bottom of front doors - place for light and wiring there, but does not power light...hmm - needs investigation.
Front door pocket lights - need to buy the lights but wiring and hole is there.
Rear footwell lights - need to make loom to piggy back off front footwell lights

Would you be able to share links to guides for the things you've already done? Where you got the parts and how you did it? Mainly interested in the Cargo Area Power Socket.

Hi

Here is the info on the power socket:

A link to the boot light fitting would be useful. The small LED on the tailgate is not much use.

Agreed! It looks a bit daunting but it all comes apart pretty easy... you could do it without taking the panel out at all...but I was worried about drilling into something I couldn’t see.

"Puddle lights in bottom of front doors - place for light and wiring there, but does not power light...hmm - needs investigation."

Do you know for sure the fittings are there? I can't see anything on the bottom of my doors but I haven't taken the panel off yet.

I bought some leds off Ebay and it said they fit my model but I'm not so sure. Mine is a 2013 S60.
This is what I got: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-2-4Pcs...72.m2749.l2649

Yes there is a small hole in the bottom of the door and I found the plug taped up in the loom, however when trying with a light it does not illuminate. I’ve read around and some have had success and others not, so it probably depends on what other options you have fitted, and therefore what door module is fitted. I’m going to investigate if there is enough of a signal on the line to trigger a MOSFET, even if there is not enough to power the light directly.

The MOSFET is a good idea although I was thinking of running a live from either the internal lights or the mirror light

I’d be happy taking it from a footwell light- but assumed it would be a nightmare to get into the door...?

Well, I've spent the last couple of hours taking my door apart and I definately don't have the wiring or the fittings for a light in mine.

With the leds I bought I can see how I can fit them fairly easily though. I've found the 12v feed which goes live when the light button on the keyfob is pressed. You're right about getting a wire through the door, I didn't want to pull at the loom connector too much and I'm not sure how it comes off.

If the connector is accessable it would be easy enough to feed a live from the interior lights. If not I'll use the keyfob option.
