Advice Please Rear Caliper Ph2
Hi Guy's
Noticed to day whilst checking the rear discs that the far side rear caliper has a tiny weep of brake fluid coming from where the handbrake lever is bolted to the back of the caliper.....is it easy enough to re-seal these or should I go for a good second one or recon? Any advice is always much appreciated. |
Mine went a few weeks ago, came back to a puddle of brake fluid under the car.
I found it easier to replace with a recon unit. think ECP had an offer on at the time so dont know what the cost is now but as long as the old one is serviceable you get £36 surcharge returned. |

Ok so some have cleaned up components or rebuilt rear calipers?
The thing is that the seal under the plate is there to keep crap out and the o ring at the other end of the actuating shaft is there to keep brake fluid in The same applies to brake piston boots and steering rack boots and other boots and the boots on your feet The OP calipers, BOTH OF THEM require a complete rebuild Windscale obviously has a lot to answer for |
