Fuel pump fail
 

V70 d5 2007, I posted about a lack of acceleration and the car has now refused to start. I can hear the fuel pump whirring when ignition turned on, then shutting off. Took water bleed plug from bottom of fuel filter and a small amount of deisel ran out. On turning on ignition I get the whirring but no fuel out of bottom of fuel filter casing. Should the in tank pump be pumping fuel through into the filter case and thus out the bottom. Fuel gauge shows plenty of fuel and has always been accurate.
Any ideas please
